Our programs are affordable, flexible, and tailored to meet the needs of our diverse student body. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA I)

Course Description

The Nursing Assistant Program is a one hundred and twenty (120) hour approved course which provides the core knowledge and skills necessary to provide quality health care to residents in nursing homes, assisted-living facilities and to hospital patients. Students will be taught the proper way to move residents/patients and the basics of personal care, feeding and bathing. Other skills include taking vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure) and proper emergency protocol.

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA II)

Course Description

In this course participants will review various approaches to advance nursing assistant procedures. The human body and its function will be addressed as it relates to the course content. This course will include review of scope of practice for C.N.A II, emphasis is placed on sterile techniques, respiratory procedures, catheterizations, wound and tracheotomy care, irrigations and ostomy care.  It also addresses the need to care for oneself and encourages the development of professionalism. This is 160 hour program

Medication Aide

Course Description

The Medication Aide training program covers the basic preparation for administration of medications by unlicensed persons in a skilled nursing facility setting. It is a 24 hour class. Students who complete this program will be eligible to take the North Carolina Board of Nursing Medication Aide Exam.

Medication Techinician

Course Description

This training is designed to prepare individuals to administer medications in an assisted living setting, group homes and rest homes in long term setting. Upon completion of the training, student will be qualified to take the Medication Administration Exam administered by the NC Division of facility Services;

Pharmacy Technician

Course Description

Pharmacy Technology is designed to train pharmacy technicians to pass the Pharmacy Technician Certifying Board examination. A practicing pharmacist has developed the curriculum. The program includes 90 classroom hours plus 60 homework hours for a total of 150 hours. Teachers are encouraged to arrange student work-based learning opportunities in pharmacies for practical experience. The American Council of Pharmaceutical Education accredits the program.

Phlebotomy

Course Description

The Phlebotomy curriculum prepares individuals to obtain blood and other specimens forthe purpose of laboratory analysis. Course work includes proper specimen collection and handling, communication skills, and maintaining patient data. The program is based on the guidelines, models and requirements of the approving agency. It consists of 240 contact hours: 120 hours of classroom work (lecture and lab)and 120 hours of practical experience at an approved site. Students completing the program have several avenues leading to certification. The program consists of six courses. Three courses form a knowledge base for students to specialize in the skills of a phlebotomist. These include Medical Terminology, CPR for Healthcare Professionals, and Human Disease. Two courses, Phlebotomy and Phlebotomy II, focus on the skills and knowledge specific to the actual duties performed by a phlebotomist. The capstone course is an externship in a medical clinic or hospital. In the externship, participants will practice and master the duties of phlebotomist under the supervision of a certified professional.

Medical Transcription

Course Description

This program prepares students to transcribe medical records and documents. It includes hands-on training using the latest transcription technology, with an emphasis on accuracy and understanding medical terminology. Students will also be prepared for certification exams.

Medical Assistant

Course Description

This program is designed to teach students the skills necessary for employment in the modern medical facility. A qualified medical assistant is capable of performing a wide range of duties, with a variety of technical detail; thus helping the physician in many clinical situations. Upon successful completion of this course, students will receive a certificate of completion and will be eligible for National Certification through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).

CPR Certification/Recertification (Adult/Child)

Course Description

We provide training for certification and recertification for CPR Certificate. We also provide group training and group rates. Call us for details.

Continuing Education Programs

Course Description

We have programs that designed for individual needs and also facility training program to meet specific needs. We provide quality assurance/improvement program tailed to our clients specific needs. We also provide consultants for in facility training of management staff including DON training, MDS, QI/QA, SDC etc

Evening/Weekend Programs

Course Description

Divine Health Academy is basically a center that offers evening/weekend classes.  The availability of courses in the evening/weekend allows working students to coordinate their school activities with employment.  We do however have some daytime and weekend classes.

Course Description

A non-refundable application fee of $25.00 is required for all programs. This fee is paid at the time of application submission.
